Hello everyone. :) Im new to these forums. I've been looking for a HP laptop that fits my needs for quite some time now. I just have a simple question: Will a dv6000z with the geforce Go6150 run Final Fantasy XI?? I know the game doesn't require much but i want to make sure before I perchase. Also how well will it run?? I will mainly be using this laptop for the Net, Email and video watching. This is the only game that I will run. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Simple Specs: Turion x2 TL56 (1.83ghz)
    2 gigs ram
    120 gig HD
    Geforce Go 6150

    Thanks in Advance!!

hmm it shud play it reasonably well as the game appears to not need much graphics power, just make sure the go6150 gets all the RAM it can get from the 2gb there

np with those system requirements a 6150 will run fine

I ran ice age2 on a desktop AMD sempron with a 6150 integrated mobo and it ran fine, anything more than that and the 6150 just doesnt cut it

Are you sure? You can do better for just around $1050 if you buy from HP's website and customize a dv6000- you can get a core duo and a stronger graphics option for less than that model @ best buy. You can customize one to your specifications (extra battery, bigger battery, more hard drive space, etc) and you will probably still come in under that total. (I assume that's U.S. dollars?)

well yeah but the offer greatly depends on your location. if you're not in the states then you probably cant get that deal with $1000

I've tried countless times. I can't build one with the same specs as that one for less than $1200. (You assumed right. U.S. dollars) I really want a Core 2 Duo with the same specs but I can build one like that for less than $1300. I try again in a min but I dont think the outcome will change.

P.S. Love the Avatar Otaku (Robotech right??)

    I'm back.
    Core 2 Duo T5600,
    Vista Premium
    2 gig ram
    120 gig hd
    geforce go 7400
    imprint, mic and cam
    12 cell batt
    no software
    no EW
    price $1,342.99

    The same specs with the Turion 64 X2 TL56 - 1,296.99

I don't see a reason to buy one online for 2 - 3 hundred more for just for a video card that i dont really need that much. i would be nice to have though.

If someone sees something different please let me know. Thanks in Advance!!

another problem here is if ur system will have vista or XP cuz apparently some games dont run well if at all with vista, and then many games that do run arent running as well as they did with XP

google around the forums to make sure the one and only game u will play actually WILL play on vista

The system specs are plenty to run Final Fantasy XI, but the fact that you'll get Vista will be a problem for you in the short run. The official site, http://www.playonline.com/homeus/headline/news01.html says they have known Vista issues that they haven't yet corrected. So, when they get their update out you should be fine, but right now you probably won't be able to play.
