I'm hoping I can find support here, since it looks like this is the place to ask questions about the dv6z and dv6t.

So, based on my pricing, my options have come down to getting the dv6z-7000 with the A8-4500M, 2GB Radeon HD 7730M, and the anti-glare HD 1920x1080 screen OR the dv6t-8000 with an i5-3210M and NVIDIA Geforce GT 650M (2GB) with the standard 1366x768 glossy screen.

I've looked around, and many people recommend the screen. Based on performance, the Intel build is better statistically (from what I've looked up), but I'm trying to figure out how much it would beat out the AMD build. Is it worth it to have the less-performance build with a better screen, or the better performance with a worse screen?

Note: I do slight gaming, but not necessarily the big-name games. I play source engine games and some older ones, but not games like Diablo or BF3.

Oops, I just realized this is in the wrong section, sorry. Can this be moved to the What Notebook Should I Buy? section?

haha i was on the same fence yesterday.
I ended up chosing the 7730m with the 1080p screen. I dont have a desktop so ill be using my laptop a lot and for a 1080p screen its an awesome setup for the price

personally I kind of wish I went the i5 650m route sometimes, but thats if youre going to be hooking it up up a monitor for gaming, (like I wanted to do anyways). But when I thought about it, I figured , Ill build a desktop for that...

Thanks for your input, but I've been thinking - it might be worth it to get the Intel build and just buy the better screen in the future and install it myself. Of course, I've never done that before, so is that even possible? If it is, that would be incredibly reassuring knowing that I CAN get the better screen if I really want it.

its very possible its just finding a 1080p screen, most vendors just sell replacements for the 1366x768 version and some obscure vendors take advantage of that and will overprice the out of the part you want.
