I just got this laptop and I'm very paranoid that I've read some of you had sent it in for repairs. I do hear the fan running pretty audibly and it concerns me because I'm not sure if it's normal or not. How do I know if I have the Envy 14-1xxx or Envy 14-2xxx? It's the Beats Edition and came with a carrying bag. It was also a gift so I didn't get it from the store personally.

Is there a certain BIOS I should use (The latest one)? And is it better to have the graphics in dynamic or fixed mode? I game every now and then so fixed is less hassling to deal with the inputs but I don't want to burn anything out.

EDIT: Pretty sure mine is the 2160se and the BIOS is F.09 which I believe is the latest one. I'm still worried about the fan activity and if it is normal. Also on if I should switch back to dynamic graphics.

You should ask this in the owner's lounge where you probably read about the issues that spooked you.
