Hello, not sure if this is the right place to post this but...

I recently got Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 on my dv4. However, after running either program for a couple minutes, my laptop will suddenly turn off completely, and sometimes it doesn't even make it through a restart without turning off again. This has never happened previously, even on Photoshop CS3, which was what I was using before. I do not get any error messages, and the only sign of anything going wrong is the black screen asking whether I want to start in Safe Mode when I turn the laptop back on.

    I am running 64-bit Win 7, 2.27GHz cpu, 4 GB RAM.

After reading up a bit on this kind of problem, I think it is a hardware problem and not a software issue... I have noticed that my fan has been running a lot, but it has never crashed my laptop even when running louder and longer than it did for Photoshop.

I would really appreciate any help, or even a pointer to other forums on Photoshop issues! Thank you!!!

Try checking your temps. A instant turn off to a black screen sounds like a heat induced cpu shutdown
