Hi, anyone has having trouble to play Blu ray movies throught the laptop?. Yesterday I bought a blu ray movie to test the computer, and dont have any luck. The computer reads the disk. It opens the QuicPlay after I insert the movie. then It shows me just like 1 second of the movie screen, then the display turns black, (just the movie area) the menus still on their place. Anyone had experiecne that? please give me some advise. thank you

I would try to download the latest PowerDVD and install it. You can download a trial version from Cyberlink. Since these systems come with Cyberlink software already, it appears already to be licensed for PowerDVD. That is to say it will be an active application once installed to your system. Give it a try, might work.

I have not had these issues. I have had it freeze up but that was before I got rid of the bloatware! I got rid of all that and install 64 bit Vista and now it is smooth sailing! Quickplay does suck! Go with a different program.. I cannot suggest one since I am still testing the programs. When I test some more I will post my results!

Have you upgraded your video drivers to the version available on laptopvideo2go? I had similar symptoms to what you explained - when I was running the modded drivers... I grabbed the drivers from HP's site and, once loaded, all worked well.

I also downloaded the upgrade to QuickPlay that can be linked to thru the program options.

I would try out AnyDVD HD...it decrypts BluRay discs and lets you play them in any video player...I'd suggest VLC Media Player.

Welcome to the wonderful world of BLU....incomplete and problematic format.

Seriously, try another disc. There is so much information that sometimes you get a corrupted disc...it does happen . Usually the store will honor an exchange. Check another disc first.
