As with my last thread, this one concerns with problems encountered after upgrading to Vista 64. It seems that that HP's software for playing blu-ray and HD DVDs think my computer isn't made by HP and therefore, refuse to install. Does anyone know of a remedy to this? Thanks

I had the same problem with Vista 32 bit. I had to use the Intervideo from the App & Driver CD that came with the unit and then install the update from the HP site. Also, my 64 bit Vista (HP preload) says "media is not supported" when trying to play Blu-Ray.

Look in your C:\SWSETUP folder. Burn that folder to DVD while you're at it.

Edit: On second thought, you probably knew that... but yeah, HP is awfully stingy about including discs these days.

Oh, you didn't get one with your system? Hm, it must be something their only including with the workstation models?

Either way, the DVD is almost identical to the SWSetup folder. You should be able to use that, but I don't think you will be able to play blu-ray under 64 bit; at least I'm not able to get it to work even with a preload image.

It seems to be an Intervideo limitation in Vista 64bit.

When I open Intervideo in Vista 64 it gives the old color scheme error message:

Which Vista 32bit does not. Then when it tries to play the Blu-Ray it gives the error:

    My consensus for Blu-Ray is:

    Intervideo
    32 bit - yes
    64 bit - no

    Cyberlink
32 bit - yes, but choppy
    64 bit - no

Hopefully they will fix this in future revisions.
