Are you sure you will get the headphones? or are you just adding them to the order? Just an FYI, you are not required to use the beats headphones with the beats laptop. In other words, there are a lot of better headphone manufactures out there that make headphones that cost less and sound better and there are some that cost more and sound AMAZING! I would recommend going to a local Hi-Fi shop and see what they have. I would not choose your laptop base on adding the headphones, that has nothing to do with the computer.
Secondly, you are comparing two completely different laptops and only you can decide. I came from a 17" DV9500 and was scared to hell about a 14" laptop. However, I absolutely love my 14 Beats Edition. But I needed more portability now than in the past where it was just a couch laptop. -
Easy, get the Envy 17 or Envy 17 3D both to come out soon with Sandy Bridge!!!!
The solo headphones are not that great. I've tried them out in Best Buy...they have those and the Beats Studio headphones which are a little better, and the top of the line Beats Pro!!! Those kick ! I loved the Beats Pro, no battery needed the sound is so rich.
The point is, don't buy the Beats Envy just for the headphones, not a good idea. Get the best laptop you can affored, then think about headphones.

If you already have a good desktop, wait for the envy14. No point having a huge laptop if you already have a good desktop at home.
If you don't go for the 17.
That would be my suggestion.
As for the headphones, most people say they are overpriced, they don't come with the beats by default and the quality is so-so. There are better alternatives out there.
The only positive point is that they fit the beats visual theme. -
Are planning to move it anywhere. Cause you're. Looking at 2 hours of life on the 17
