Hi! There's something bugging me about the temps i'm getting from EVEREST. It reads the CPU and motherboard temperature to be ~ high 60's celcius (This is shortly after a fresh boot) and peaking around the 80's under load. Contrastingly, the GPU temps never go beyond 60's. Are these temperatures reasonable, because i think they are a bit high and something 'bad' will happen.... :(

If anyone could post their temperatures, it would ease my mind if i have something to compare to. :D

What about using a different temp monitor? That might be a good idea. It usually is.

Mine aren't nearly that high, I think the monitor is off.

Thanks, but the funny thing is....Everest seems to display temps lower than what other monitors tells me (I've tried HWMonitor, it shows temps that are ~5 degrees higher than what everest reports)...so are these temps normal, or should i start worrying?

RM Clock :) compare temps from it and Everest. Dont be suprised with CPU temps if you are working on a high performance profile as it can get quite hot.
Playing The Witcher on the o/c card without lowering my CPU voltage was frying it at 90-92C. Lowering voltage on the max multiplier to 1.00V lowered the temp to 72C :)

I've tried RM Clock as recommended, and the results are quite startling, 70+ degrees when idled, and over 90 under load. My laptop shut down due to overheating today (im assuming its overheat as i didnt hit any power buttons and is, as far as i know, virus-free). This is starting to bother me, can i make a case with HP support, because i really need a working laptop to review notes as exams are just around the corner.

Thanks for all the input so far.

Have high CPU temperatures on 8510 p, haven't caused any problems yet though.

Some poeple said to me my hwmonitor was messing up whats GPU and CPU, caused they ment the GPU should be warmer than the CPU. Anyways, the CPU was working around 85 C and the GPU around 65C (as mentioned, some people ment this just aint right, and the CPU is the GPU and vica verca)

Dum_hobo, what was the temp when it shut down??
Does it run so high even on power saver mode??

Have a quick question. Why is it that when I choose "performance" as the power profile in Vista, it doesn't give me the same amount of "juice" (especally noticable when gaming) as when I plug in the poweradapter, it's the same power profile!

Destiny, Power Saver - Fresh Boot - 47 degrees. But as soon as any application is opened (besides startup ones) it ups to mid 50's and climbs to ~ 58. As for temps during shut down....iunno how i'll get those values  .

That is quite normal without temp management with RM Clock. Start using RM Clock to get lower temps. U will be surprised how much you can lower them by lowering the voltage.

Hmm, It seems like even on performance profile while running on battery Vista is trying to save energy by using smaller multiplier? For me its just obvious that I wont have the same performance on battery as on AC.
