Hello.I have a compaq N610C laptop. I am on a mission to replace the dvd-rom drive with a laptop cd-rw/dvd-rw drive from ebay. I need to know how to open it up and how to replace it? I know how to replace desktop computers dvd drives so i hope this is as easy.I see that every laptop opens differently and hope someone here can assist me with this difficult problem! Thanks in advance!

Why hello noob. Lol im being sarcastic.

Sup man, well what you are wanting to do is a very simple yet complex task.
First of all this is your best friend this ---> :D

And second, you must find the manual for your computer wich im sure you will not have any problem because it's right HERE

After reading the manual and taking notes on important passages, you will procede carefully but confidently.

You will need a screw driver (philips) and some patience and that drive.

PM for more help if needed.
