    My DVD/CD player quit working a while back.I bought a DVD drive on ebay install it and it won't open.I push the little button and nothing.
    Any idea of what I can do to make this work?

    Send it back? Also if it's available within My computer right click and eject. If it doesn't eject at that point it might well be busted.

    Most of those external drives need the high current mode of the USB port to work. Or they may use a second port for power.
