For the last few months, I have been trying to track down a problem in which my notebook's USB connections would slow to a crawl when more than one device is plugged in. With a single device, I know my laptop can transfer data at about a maximum of 25MB/sec...but when all my devices are connected, and even with all of them turned off save one, I cannot surpass about 7-8MB/sec.
Obviously, this is a very disappointing situation for me, as regular backups of my drives can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. I remember reading a few threads a couple of months back about users experiencing the same issues, and I wanted to start up a new thread for nc8430 users to post these problems.
Personally, despite all the help that HP Business Tech has been with other issues, I'm a little frustrated that this laptop is not performing the way it should. I've tried everything, every setup, and even four operating systems...the problem is always there. It is a hardware/firmware issue, and I just appealed to HP Tech Support with detailed diagnostic reports of mine that show what I've done and what I'm seeing.
I want to know if I am not the only one. Please post, and hopefully a few of us working together can make a difference and fix these issues.
EDIT: I'm probably not going to be here for the next week or so, but please keep this thread alive. I'll post when I get back...
Please post if your HP nc8430 (or any HP notebook for that matter) has USB issues...
