I just recently purchased an pavilion zv5000 and it came with a media cable xc1000. I have been trying to hook my pc up to my tv and the s-video cable isn't streaming properly. The sound streams just fine but when i hit the fn+f4 key, the tv flashes my monitor on it but quickly returns to the blank state. I have tried HP tech support but they seem to know no more than the manual which is nothing. I thought i could find some useful help here. Please help me with this issue as it has me up against a wall and near ready to just give up and return my laptop and take an oath never to call hp tech support again. Please can anybody offer a fix or suggestions? thanks in advance

As I responded to you post in a different thread, you may want to try lowering your resolution first. I had this same issue on my Toshiba notebooks. I think TV's can only utilize a max resolution of 800x600 at 60Hz. Anything higher and all you get is a black screen w/audio.

    Thnx Venombite,

I had a similar situation with someone's system hooked up to a TV and we were mind-boggled at to what the challenge was, since everything worked perfectly when it wasn't hooked up to the TV.

    Cheers,

    Stevo
