Hi welcome to the forums :)
There is no reason to be alarmed that the dv5 has been discontinued. The general consensus behind why HP discontinued it was because the industry is moving away from the 16:10 ratio screens that the dv5 line used, it is apparently cheaper for them to use 16:9 ratio screens. So HP decided that once their stock of 15.4" 16:10 screens were pretty much gone they decided to discontinue the dv5 line instead of refreshing it with new screens. The dv5 line was replaced by the dv6 line a few months back.

As for your setup that config looks very healthy you should be able to play most modern games at medium-high settings. Some people might have an issue with the display's max resolution of 1280 x 800 but I personally don't mind it. The dv5 also came with a 1680 x 1050 display but since this isn't a CTO model you are stuck with the specifications that it ships with.

You aren't going to find any reviews on the forum for that specific model however you can read the review for the dv5t CTO notebook here.

You can also read laptop magazine's review of the dv5t here

As for price... well since that model was only sold in the Australian market I can't exactly speculate on what would be a good price.

those are top notch specs for a dv5t, other than lacking the WSXGA+ 1680X1050 resolution. a nice machine. have you considered looking at a dv6t with the better graphics and newer color scheme? ... but to answer your question, that is a nice model.
