Hey guys, I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas or knows anything about the possible new features for the next lineup of HPs aside from Montevina CPUs?

And any possible price guesstimations ? and will they still keep the old lineup just in case I can't afford the new lineup / don't like it ?

Sorry for all the questions, aHa. I know there's no REAL answer but I'm sure alot of you notebook-gods remember previous releases, haha.

EDIT: And feel free to post what you'd LIKE to see as well.

i'd probably fall on my knees and cry tears of joy if HP added backlit keyboards to their upcoming lineups.

and how about some alternate color options?

-They probably will move the speakers to the front of the laptop, unless people enjoy muffled music when the laptop lid is closed.
    -More glossy imprints
-Maybe slightly different design, but I really like the current ones. The new designs might be nicer or uglier. Who knows, they could even go back to a more boxy look and lose the curves =/
-More bloatware, but maybe better HP quickplay where vista does not boot up.
-Maybe a different battery so that when getting a 12-cell, it could stick out the back rather than underneath the laptop.
-higher resolution webcam (They started off with 1.3mp webcams before, but now they use the faster and lower qualty VGA ones)
-Backlit keyboard (If they could make the touch sensitive controls lightup, why not the keyboard?)
-My last idea is that they should make the expansion port smaller, or include a usb adapter. Right now, it's too wide and many people don't use it and it could be replaced with 2 usb ports. Maybe on custom orders, they could make you choose the ports you want.

yea more layers of gloss so when you put your finger on it, it will emboss itself to the actual gloss haha

-i believe they made the 12cell to raise your laptop and give it better cooling which is handy but less portable
-the webcam quality of the 1.3mp and the current one they use now is the same using chat programs unless you plan to use your laptop as a digital camera
-backlit keyboard will eat up more battery imo, you shouldnt be working in the dark anyway. Apple seems to be PRO at it

-I'm actually fine with the speakers being on the inside but I guess having them on the outside would look less asthetically pleasing. I'm fine with it either way.
-I'd like a more streamlined design like the mac and vaios (but NOT their keyboards) I like the flat edges, less of a chance for something to get wedged in there
-I also (personally) don't have a use for the hard-drive light. If my computer's still on, the hard drive probably is too lol
-The charging light is quite useless to me too, they should somehow incroporate the light with the actual power plud. Orange for charging, blue for CHARGED.
-Probably NEVER going to happen buy I wish there were some way you could customize the ports on your HP
I don't need the Expansion Base Port, nor the Dial-Up Port, and I don't think I need that firewire one either. I'd easily take a CF Card port in place of all of those (I'm a photographer) If not that, then I'd rather just not have those ports there. I like it simple
-OMG a slot-loading drive would be SIIIIIIICK. Like the ones on the PS3, Mac, Wii etc etc
-I've actually never used the webcam on the HPs but yeah, i'd take 1.3MP over a VGA. ANyone know how much FPS the current models have ?
    -Wireless AGN Standard
-Standard 4-hour battery life would be nice
-ZERO bloatware would be cool. Probably won't happen anytime time soon, er, ever
-When the mute button is pressed, the quickplay buttons shouldnt make that beep noise
-Oh and when changing the volume using the remote or quickplay buttons, it should skip in intervals of 5 instead of 2. I basically have to rapidly finger the quickplay button for like 5-second just to slightly decrease the volume. ANd it should also display the volume on the screen when you do so

Most of those are what I want to see but unfortunately probably WON'T lol

True, but i'm sure there'll be an on/off button for it.

It would be SO handy for people like me. Aka chat-happy AIM-whore talking to girls about their drama right before going to bed, haha. (too tired to sit in a desk)

When I had my HP, i would angle the screen at like 80 degrees so i could use the LCD to light up my keyboard lol
