Is it possible to change the CPU's on these models or are they soldered in?

The TL-64 would be the safer bet. As the v6000z & dv6000z share the same BIOS (and the TL-64 was offered on the dv6000z), it would be recognized in the v6000z.
As for the TL-66, they did not start showing up until the dv6500z refresh (which uses different system boards and BIOS than the previous model). It may work, but it is an "iffy" proposition.

Probably not enough to justify voiding your warranty, especially given how expensive Turions are at retail prices. Performance scales fairly linearly with clock speed. If you do this, be sure to flash in the current BIOS first as that may add support for newer CPU core steppings.
