After upgrading my router to a draft n, I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the built-in wireless on my lappy, to take advantage of the speed. I know that most cards are blocked by the bios, but are there any draft-n cards that arn't?

Well I know that you can take out the network card, so I don't see a problem as to why you wouldn't be able to purchase a better wireless card from HP and install it. Here's the thing though, the only way you will truly notice the difference in speed is if you are transferring files locally, because internet won't reach that speed for a long time to come.

I'm not sure, but while you are waiting for a response from people, look it up as well. You could try going on HP.com or calling HP and telling them your laptop model number and info and get the part number from them. I bet they would even give you a price on how much one is.

The service manual for your notebook might list the part #. Click the Manuals link on the left-hand side of the hp.com downloads page for your notebook to find it.

Note that 802.11n notebooks may have a different antenna configuration (3 antennas instead of 2) so just swapping in a new card might not be adequate.

make sure the card is not blacklisted by your BIOS
