My father's 65W power Adapter died this morning & he's going to use 90W HP adapter from now on. Both models have same voltage output (18.5v-19.0v/3.xxAmp-4.75Amp)

65W adapter came for DV27xx notebook & 90W came for DV67xx model. He said there's nothing to worry due to same output levels & wottage diffrence never affect battery/notebook.

My question is will this damage battery/notebook?

no it wont damage the notebook. 90 w power adapetr means it can supply upto 90 w keeping voltage const and current varying. (voltage x current = power. 18.5 x 4.75 = 87.875 approx to 90 w). the laptop infact consumes variable power demanding on its requirements. it keeps voltage const and current varying to reach the required power. infact manufacturers have given adequate care so that u dont have to worry about anything of these . u can plug in the power adapter as long as the socket on the laptop and the pin of the adapter matches without force
