    Power/Battery Issues with DV4-1125NR

    Trying to help a friend out. I have a little more testing to do, but when I first got the machine it would not boot off A/C only or battery only. With the battery in the lights came on briefly with the battery in so I assume the battery was drained. Got a charged battery from another machine and it would boot up when only the A/C and battery are in. Not either one by itself. It stopped working after 10 minutes hopefully just because even the charged battery is old and drained quickly. So I'm currently charging (hopefully) both batteries up again for more playing around using an old HP DV5 I have. Also, while plugged in and off, the battery light blinks instead of steady as if its charging. Finally, the charger they were using appears to be dead so not sure if related, surge, etc.

    I would love any thoughts on whether this situation is reparable (not the system board)?

    Okay - things seem simpler but still busted, now its just not charging. It will boot up off the battery alone, not the A/C alone and it does not indicate a charging battery when the A/C is in. In fact, the power light appears to be a little dim when running...

    Bad mobo? Wiring seemed to test fine into the mobo on my dvm.
