So I just got my 6135 refurb from newegg today and plugged it in and turned it on. I noticed that the screen was constantly changing brightness during setup. I thought it was just a light sensor or something that I could turn off but when I finally got through hp setup and into windows I saw that the power was constantly switching between battery power and ac power. I checked the cable, tried a different outlet, and restarted the computer but it won't stay on ac power.

Anyone have an idea of what's wrong?

This is probably a power with the charging assembly. I recommend you return it.
