Power jack cable HP DV8 problem

I received from my friend the HP pavilion dv8 not working....The history....according to my friend it was working fine, then from time to time it would turn off by itself after 45 minutes of work, he used it that way for 2 month, then one day first he smell some burn, then he shut it down, later he opened it and try to clean everything, after that when he put the power cable he could see that the white/blue led light on the power is blinking like loosing strength or something, more smoke...then he give up and take it to me to take a closer look.

Sooo at closer look i found out that the charger was reason everything hapend, also the charger destroyed the power cable (burned) so i bought one new from ebay. I was hoping that motherboard was fine because i notice small sign of burn on the part where power cable enters motherboard. I clean it all, and replaced the power cable with one from the ebay. Yestrday i only put cpu and one stick of ram, no lcd and anything and try to see what will hapened if i try to power it up. I used the other charger (used) and when i insert it i get from the charging port orange/amber led light. this is all before powering up. Then i try to power it up and it is on... working...i can not know will everything work, cause lcd and other parts are not attached at this time, but laptop works...the thing is what is strange to me is orange led light on power cable. I was sure that the light should be blue or white, so i checked on youtube with similiar models and they all have white light when you put the charger to a power port. So i was wondering is orange led indicates some problem or i just bought some chinese power cable port that is not like original so it has orange instead of blue light?! in the manual i didnt find anything.... Any help is appriciated....
