Hi, all. I just tried to play a 3D blu-ray in PowerDVD 11. It was AWFUL. There was so much flickering, and you could see the extra outlines of the images off to the side. I tried with another blu-ray that worked excellently in PowerDVD 10, and the same thing happened. Has anyone else had their 3D quality decline precipitously since switching to PowerDVD 11? I am actually trying to revert right now.

I just tried in HP Media Smart, which functioned flawlessly. I might be someone dizzy for a few days after what just happened in PowerDVD. lol

I know MediaSmart is often dismissed as bloatware, but it's made by the same company. Plus, since no other program that comes with the computer plays blu-rays or 3D blu-rays, I think it's quite worthwhile.

I haven't personally tried powerdvd 11 but I know in the past (before I installed the SSD) using powerdvd 10, if I tried to play a movie off my HDD in 3d, it would be all flickery and just terrible.

I think your best bet is just to either reinstall powerdvd 11 or revert back to powerdvd 10. I just VLC had 3d. VLC is by far the best media playing software I have used for a very long time. Long live VLC.

I reverted, and the problem persisted. Perhaps I should have uninstalled PowerDVD 11 altogether first. MediaSmart will do for 3D then.

I like VLC for its ability to play most files, but I hate the archaic feel of it.
