Lots of preinstalled sw on the zx5000. Much of which I have never heard. Any preinstalled sw you found worth keeping? Any hidden software I should delete? If I do a reformat and reinstall from the HP disks, will I have an option to not install the junk? [} :)]

The HP Restore CD's should consist of 1 XP OS CD and 1 Application/Driver CD. If you have these 2 CD's, you can install the OS with CD#1 and then selectively install the APPS/Drivers from CD#2. Usually, all the apps included are pretty much useless, except for the AntiVirus software.

Yea I said the same thing when I got mine. I got rid of some stuff. But there is a sh*t load of apps running on startup that I don't want to remove from msconfig cause they are all HP files. I know half of them can be disabled but with my luck ill choose the wrong one.
