    Presario 2100 slow on net

    How come it is that our Presario with a 54 K modem logs onto the net at around 28 K while my Dell desktop with a 54 K modem logs on consistently at 50.2 K or higher? It's done that ever since it was new. Both on dial-up. I can download a document in half the time on the Dell.

    What numbers do you dial up with? If you are using a different set of numbers, then you might think that some numbers give a poor connection - the range from server affects dialup connections

    Take a look at the numbers. That usually fixes it.
