    HI guys and gals,

i wonder if any1 can help me, ive just had a friend pass me a hp-compaq presario 2100. ok heres the problem, on boot up just after the bios check it come up with a smart monitoring message sayin your hard drive may fail at anytime press f1 to continue, so u press f1 and everythin is cool, boots up as u wud expect it to, works no problem. I need to know how to turn off this message? ive been into the bios and found the smart monitoring setting, looks as tho it will let u select it but it doesnt! ok np, so loaded default settings which did disable SMART monitoring so u save and exit then on next boot the error message reappears :S so go bak into bios and all the seetting r bak to normal. Also tryed the reset button underneath, hopin it wud clear the cmos, didnt make any difference either. Does any1 have any ideas wots wrong or wot im doing wrong, hope some1 can help

    All the best Steve
