Hi. Was just wondering about doing a CPU upgrade on the above laptop, the current CPU is an AMD Sempron M100. I'm not to up on my AMD cpu's so not sure what the best upgrade would be. Also, what does the bios support, as there are many CPU's that will fit the S1 socket, but I guess not all will be supported in the bios, so does anyone have any knowledge on this.

Also, how easy would it be on this model, I've done a couple of upgrades on a few other laptops, they were pretty straight forward so hopefully this will be to!!!

Edit to the mods: I've posted this in the hardware forum as well yesterday, but I've now posted it here as the question is specific to this model, hope it's ok.

Welll...based on the socket, it should accomodate any of the newer Athlon II and Turion II based cpu's (older versions wont be compatible). The service manual for the series (CQ61/G61) lists selection of cpu's which cover the whole range of the new cpu's. So, as long as you have the latest bios it shouldnt have any issues running the dual core Athlon/Turion II's.
