I have a Presario V2000 (Intel one) that came with 256MB RAM. I am thinking of adding the Crucial 1GB PC3200 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145096). I know from reading many threads this will work with the AMD version (V2000z), and it will run at PC2700 if I keep the 256. Just want to confirm that it will also work with the Intel version (at the lower PC2700, I know).
Or if anyone has a better suggestion on what to get?
Thanks.

Ususally, RAM is less finicky with Intel chips since the memory controller (on the chipset instead of AMD's built in) is less hard on the RAM.
I see no reason why not. -
Are you sure the 256mb chip is DDR and not DDR2? (is there 256mb DDR2.. hm?) The intel version supports DDR2, so you'd better run CPUz to confirm the speed of your current memory

It should work ok -
Type: DDR-SDRAM
Size: 256 MBytes
Channels# : Single
Frequency: 166.3 MHz
FSBRAM: 3:5
CAS# Latency: 2.5 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge: 3 clocks
Cycle Time (Tras): 7 clocks
And the CUP-Z version is 1.31.
Oh, and the Processor Name reported by CUP-Z says: Intel Pentium M 725.
Thanks.
