    Dear members,

I have a Compaq Presario V2000 thatÂ’s around 2 years old. Few days ago it stared crashing (freezing) as soon as it boots up. Sometimes after a min or so. For example, I open a few folders and a sec later it crashes. By crashing I mean hard freeze that I can only shut down / restart it by holding the power button. This happens every time. Basically, the laptop is unusable. Safemode with no networking seems to work ok.

My question is, what can I do to fix this? Has anyone experienced similar before?

    Thank you.

well, if it boots into Safemode without any problems, it might not be hardware related problems (it might!)
check your "Device Manager" and see if there's anything wrong with particular hardwares..

have you recently changed your hardware? installed any new softwares? new patches (via Windows Update)?

check your "Processes" in "Task Manager" and see which processes are using most of the memory and cpu power after restarting/prior freezing...

check your Start-up processes and see if there's any abnormal programs

Have you installed a new program recently? Could be causing a conflict and corrupting.
