    Preservinf battery for zv5000

    I have had my hp zv5000 for 5 months and really had not notice the following problem. It seems lately that my battery has been running down quickly lately. I have the original battery that the laptop come with, it there a way to perserve battery life. Everytime I charge it goes to 99%...

    You might get longer battery life by calibrating your battery every once in a while. To do this, disable the feature that automatically shuts down the notebook at low power (found in control panel-->performance and maintenance-->power settings) and let the battery run all the way down.

    Run MobileMeter and see what your Battery Wear Level is on its Battery Info tab. If it's over 10% (and under a year old like you said), call HP and get them to replace the battery under warranty. The battery should last 1-1/2 to 3 years.
