Is there a method to HP's pricing?

I have been closing in on a DV9000t and trying to determine what I want/need and can afford. Looking at both academic discount and Costco. It was pretty even, now Costco seems the better deal

HP recently pulled some of their price breaks (35% off Vista ultimate and $150 rebate) reducing their discount from 11+% to 6+%.

I want to buy now but can wait a month or two. Is there anything on the immediate horizon that is either worth waiting for (better video card), or if introduced would likely reduce the current price points (better hard drive, flash drive)

These things are hard to predict unless you know someone inside the loop but I would expect the prices to go up a month or so from now due to the upsoming release of new chipsets/updated CPUs from Intel.
