Please help - I have upgraded all my stuff lately and as such have a Sony VAIO VGN-AR31S notebook with Vista Home Premium OS and 2 x printers which are HP Photosmart C3100 series [3180] and HP Deskjet 460 mobile printer. When I go into Control Panel - Printers, both printers state READY. When i go into Device Manager it comes up THIS DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY / COMPATTABLE PRINTER. When I try to print a document I get a box up which states 'Before you can perform print related tasks such as page set up or printing a document YOU NEED TO INSTALL A PRINTER. I have tried to look for upgrades and get a message back that I HAVE THE CORRECT DRIVERS INSTALLED for each printer. My scanners work normally. Any ideas why my computer will not link to these printers and how to rectify it ?
    Many thanks,
    Billy.

The printer you have is it hooked directly to your laptop? Did you download the latest drivers for vista. Turn off your user control account in the control panel under user accounts. You have to reboot after doing that.
