    Problem Installing uBuntu on HP Envy 14

    Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me? I installed uBuntu onto my HP envy through a disc I burned with uBuntu from online. It installed properly but when I tried to select it to boot when I start my computer it goes to a black screen. Can anyone help me?

    i was wondering Did you install ubuntu on to your hard drive or did you just boot off the cd rom and when it booted did you hear ubuntu theme sound??

    yea i installed it onto the hard drive and i did not hear the theme sound. After the BIOS loaded it gave me the option to select Windows 7 or uBuntu and I selected ubuntu then it went blank.

    ok well i had the same problem too but i did not install ubuntu on my hard drive i just booted off the cd and my screen turn black , after waiting for a few or so seconds i heard the theme sound and my screen was still black i pressed f3 a few times to turn up the brightness and it work i think ubuntu have some sort of problem with the switchable graphics during boot
