This has been happening more and more. Watching DVDs in Windows Media player then it just goes black, comes back with a blue screen in about 2 minutes and says there was a problem with windows and it shuts down and then starts over.
Its says it was caused by the Nvidia graphics driver. I waited and waited for the Nividia card before buyhing this notebook. Is there an updated driver now.
This sucks.

for possible drivers
good job buying the 64bit vista, i mean vista32 is crap enough but 64bit wont help! -
I kinda wish I would have got the Home version of 32. My mother has it and it seems to have alot less problems with it. Thanks.

Be sure to use the Modified INF that is available or it won't install...
Make sure you remove your previous Nvidia Drivers before installing 163.44 and that should hopefully clear up your issues.
Goodluck -
I downloaded it and extracted it. Ran the setupexe file and it said it could not locate any hardware that was compatiable with the file???????
-
Well I downloaded the Modified INF file to the 163.44 folder. It didn't say anything about overwriting an existing file. But I saved it there ran the setupexe again and now it says, this program is only designed to work with Windows 2000 or XP and won't install. It didn't say anything in the install guide about manually removing the old driver first either.

I just went through the entire update process through the device manager. I downloaded everything put the new nv4 file in the 16344 folder told it to update and when the list came up my exact card is not on there. Mine is 8600gs so I selcted 8600gts. Its installing now.
-
Um are you sure you downloaded the vista64 version cuz they have different versions of the same driver for different windows versions.
-
Thats very odd because I was almost sure I posted the Windows Vista 64-Bit Edition.
Here is the link again: (Just to be sure)
