So I am trying to burn a few CDs for my girlfriend and I am coming across a few problems.

I have tried burning with Zune software, WMP and a free burner called CDBurnerXP.

Sometimes the CDs will burn fine all the way through, and other times after half way it stops and I get error messages. This has happened with all the programs I have listed.

The error is something along the lines of saying to check if the drive is connected properly or possible driver issues. Can someone direct me to the latest driver for the CD drive?

Anyone else encounter any similar problems when trying to burn CDs?

    Thanks a ton. :)

Edit: Forgot to mention this is also happening on my girlfriends laptop, which is also a dv5t...

There isn't really a driver for the CD drive. Did you try installing and updating to the latest Intel Chipset as well as the latest Intel Matrix?

I have both installed on my dv5t and haven't had issues burning a music cd with any of those.

Also, try CDBurnerXP, it's free as well.

    Tried CDBurnerXP, same problem.

You mind linking me to those latest drivers?

    Thanks.

I hope it works for you. If not, try burning at a lower speed. Try 8x instead of 16x.

But I guess before you do that, see if you still have these problems after installing these drivers and restarting.

    Thanks for the info man.

What exactly am I downloading from the Chipset link?

Sorry, just a bit confused lol.

My girlfriends dv5t has the Intel gfx, not the 9600 or 9200, which drivers would she need to download?

Again, thank you so much for taking the time and getting me these links. +repx100

I'm not sure with the Intel Graphics one. But you really only need the Matrix.

Kk, downloaded the Matrix. What is needed from the Chipset link, if anything? (for my laptop, with 9600)

Again, thank you. I will try to do some CD burning tomorrow and report back any changes.. :)
