    Greetings
I've got some problems in playing 3D Blu-Ray movies with my envy, googled it and red many sites but actualy none of them helped me out ... so i decided to post it here as once before i managed to solve my harddisks prob with the great aid of someone in this forum so probably i can catch a better idea here.

Since i bought my envy never had any problems with playing 3D BD movies with PowerDVD, till around 3-4 days ago, when i tried to play something i got this message and powerDVD was unable to play it : "3D Experience requires 3D enabled TV and player" ... tried some more movies but they were only able to be played in 2D ...

I googled it and the solution on cyperlink's site was disabling hardware accelerator as it disable True Theather, now here's the problem, in the main menu,i press CTR+C --> Video --> and I do remove the check mark in front of Enable Hardware Accelerator (ATI Avivo), OK and out. BUT each time i play a movie the Hardware acceletor option greys out with a mark and i'm unable to change it, not sure what happened, a few weeks ago HP assisst manager updated both CCC driver and PowerDVD but i'm not sure since when exactly i'm unable to play 3D BDs with it.

Also tried TotalMedia Theather 5 but still no result, it can play movies just in 2D and the 3D option is unavailable. I searched a lot but i was unable to find a solution, red many stuffs in ATi or cyperlink etc. updating VGA driver, run TriDignition diag test, downloaded and installed AMD Media Codec Package , Restart the computer -.- (oh c'mon) etc. none of them worked !

So if anyone has a suggestion or solution I appreciate if u'd share it with me :)

    Best Regards <3

In the menu for PowerDVD...make sure that True Theatre Effects is enabled. Under Blu Ray Disc....advanced...Make sure Blu Ray 3D support is enabled. Also make sure that your monitor is refreshing at 120 HZ. Right click on desktop...choose screen resolution...Advanced....then click the monitor tab and make sure it is on 120 HZ. Unfortunately, each HP release of video drivers is worst then the predecesor. Even on my Envy 17 3D-2xxx, if I use my switchable graphics...when I am back on the AMD card...the refresh comes back 60HZ and I have to change it...

I am unable to solve the problem of playing majority of 3D movies. While running HP demo videos there is no issue at all., other movies appears as SBS.
I am sure that it is an issue of setting in display or power DVD or switchable graphics. Even after trying various settings, i am unable to make it work.
