    Help!

    I have a zv6000 and it overheats terribly. :(

Right now, it runs at 60 C with the frequency restricted to 1.0 GHz (a 2.0 GHz processor).

Running at 2.0 GHz (even doing nothing) it shuts down right away.

    It already did twice today.
    From the log file:

Nov 20 03:12:13 system Critical temperature reached (85 C), shutting down.
Nov 20 03:44:42 system Critical temperature reached (84 C), shutting down.

    I don't think I have ever seen it under 50 C.

    Any advice?
    Thanks.

Then your vents are full of dust or your fan is broken. do you hear it spinning? Open it up and clean it. I have almost never seen mine above 38-40*

It could also be a mis-applied thermo pad... or extermely high temp intake air. (Gee I'm in desert, 120 in the shade and the thing overheats)

PS: How about you guys posting how "old" xyz system is, How much run time is on the unit. Note if your work area is "dusty", dirty, if you smoke, etc...

If units a month old, the problem is going to be differant from a unit a year+ old that has a clogged cooling system.
