I hava a problem with my notebook. On welcome screen in windows vista i get artifacts but only when I use power plan: balanced or high performance. On power saver (7600 clock gpu:100mhz, mem:135mhz) its all working well. In that mode temp of the gpu is 79-81(C). I think it is too much. What temps you got ?? Maybe other modes of power plan don't work because of the huge temps.

clocks for 3-d mode (low performance) 200mhz, 200mhz
clocks for 3-d mode (high performance) 450mhz, 380mhz

sorry for my english . I hope you understand.

sorry i didnt understand that very well but gpu temps of 80 is acceptable.. Heres a thread discussing temperatures that was posted recently http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=183801

According to Lithus, which i think is accurate cause these are the near exact temps i get aswell:

    Acceptable temps:
    CPU idle < 60, CPU full < 70
    GPU idle < 80, GPU full < 100
    HDD < 60

    Good temps:
    CPU idle ~45
    HDD idle ~45
    GPU idle ~60

I remember getting around 70-80c for gpu aswell when i used the Nvidia nTune tool
