This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Problem with Recovery DVD and DV 9500 cto

    I purchased a HP dv9500 about 1 year ago. Then in November 09 it went AWOL and wouldn't respond to anything. I couldn't figure it out so I ordered a recovery disc from hp (After reading the forums I know this was stupid!!) I tried the disc and I received an error saying "The recovery attempt has failed. Please select one of the following buttons: (Choice of Retry or Details).
    I clicked the details button and recieved the following;
