I just recived my HP dv9700t that I ordered and of course two days after I ordered it they anounced they were coming out with the new DV7T at the end of the month.

In any case I ordered this computer with the Blue Ray drive thinking I could connect the computer through the HDMI output and into my Panosonic Plasma TV, negateing having to by a second Blue Ray player for the TV.

Problem is when I pluged it into the TV it playes for 1 second and then comes up with a prompt that says this is an unothorized display. Apparently Sony encrypted the disks to prevent fraud.

Anyone now how to get around this security problem?

Sounds like there's an HDCP (content protection) issue going on. The HDMI output on your notebook is not synching correctly with the TV and when you play the movie, HDCP isn't working so it stops letting you play.

No suggestions on how to fix it, but thats what it sounds like is happening.

As ChevyNovaLN said it is an HDCP issue, you can only display content over hdmi on a single display.

Close all media players, change the display to single monitor (make it on the tv only so you see nothing on laptop screen), replay the bd disc... :)

Also make sure you use HP drivers for the laptop. Drivers from other sources, like LaptopVideo2Go, break the WHQL signed drivers and thus break HDCP.
