I've just recently purchased a dv6000t. Everything works fine. But yesterday when I set the volume to only 1 mark, it still makes the speakers noisy, but today I have to set it to half the bar to get the same volume as yesterday.
    Is my computer ok?

You probably wound up setting the WAVE-OUT volume lower than it was before. A lot of programs wind up doing this by accident, especially DVD player software.

If you did, changing the volume output to your speakers won't make it louder: the buttons on the laptop only change the amount of sound going to the speakers.

    try this:

open up the sound control panel- and choose advanced. You should see a series of sliders, like a mixing board. You want to set the PLAY CONTROL (or similar, on the very left) and the WAVE (or similar) to around 3/4 of the way up the slider. That will level the two at around where they are preset when XP is installed. Feel free to mess around with that until you find a level that works for you and doesn't blast your speakers!

    Hope that helps.
