Well, I hope someone here could help me with this problem I've had for a while now. I have HP zd8000 1gb ram, 100gb HDD, 256mb video card, amongst other stuff, The problem I have is that when I turn on the laptop it'll just shutoff on me. Sometimes it doesn't even turn on I'll just hear the fans spin and the lights flash and then it goes back to charging. When it did turn and stayed on for a bit, everything seemed normal, and was working, except for the battery icon, it would always say 0% and that it wasn't charging even though it was plugged in. I changed the battery and psu and it still happens, someone told me it might the battery on the board, I think its called the rtc battery, and that i should replace that. I thought it could be the fans maybe not working so the laptop would shutoff due to overheating but im not sure, Does anyone have any thoughts on this? any help would be appreciatedthanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Does it get really hot before turning off? because it sounds like it is over heating problems. But it could be something else.
-
It doesn't really get hot because it usually shuts off right away, so it doesn't have time to turn on most of the times, when it does turn on it usually gets to the part where i log into my account and as it loads my settings itll shut off.

Its overheating, this happens to my friends zd8000 notebook aswell
Try cleaning out your fans using the service manual as reference. -
Thanks for the help
, I thought it might be the fans, when you say use the service manual does this mean i should take them out to clean them? and also could it be that one of the fans is not working anymore? do you know how i cna check that? thanks again for all your help

It sounds like it doesn't have enough time to overheat since it is turnoing off right away. Have you tried reinstalling windows, you might have a corrupt file. Or tey going in via safe mode
