    Hi all,

I have a problem with my HDMI port in my laptop.
my laptop is dv4-1137tx with Windows 7 ultimate

I tried to display my desktop on LCD TV " Sumsung" but nothing happened. the TV didn't sense any signal from the laptop showing a floating message " check cable signal"

I tried another laptop and it woked fine...no problem (so no problem with the TV or with HDMI cable)

I tried again with my laptop and when I enter the HDMI cable half-way inside the HDMI port...it worked and display my desktop on the TV...But
But the floating message still appeared on the TV " check cable signal".

It means that the TV didn't sense that the cable is pluged in the laptop while the image displayed on the TV......( with floating message)

I installed the latest Nividia card driver...but nothing changed

What is the wrong...is that the laptop HDMI port or what???

To replace the HDMI port, I have to replace the motherboard ( cost 350$)..not an option for me

Can anyone have any idea how to solve this problem???

    Thanks

Laptops turn ports off by default. In order to enable it you need to push Fn+F4 or whatever it is on your keyboard( Its the symbol like |[]| )

Dear, the using of Fn+F4 give you the choice how do want to display your laptop screen...like only on your laptop or only on LCD TV or both....

The problem I faced that the display not worked on my LCD TV until I keep the HDMI cable half-way inside the HDMI port....!!!!

If it works when only pushed in half way, and not when completely in, then it is most likely a problem with the port itself. It could lay in the Nvidia settings but I highly doubt it
