    Hi notebookreview, I'm new here.
I've just bought a brand new notebook Hp Dv5t ,the problem is everytime I turn it on , I hear a strange sound come from DVD drive, it's rather loud, never deal with this issue with my old acer. I don't know if it's a faulty component or not, please let me know , I really appreciate it!

Its probably trying to see if there is a CD in there, try putting in a CD after booting see if it makes the same noise. Im pretty sure mine does it too, and my friends dell does it REALLY loud. You can probably change the boot order in BIOS but I dunno if its necessary...

How is your hard drive noise level????

UHM I had a really annoying noise with my cd/dvd drive for a little while. It was the plastic vibrating on the cover of the drive onto the front of the notebook. When I held the drive in it would stop making the noise. Now the noise is gone though :)
