    Hello all,

I have Envy 17 3d. Since I bought it, I have been having problems viewing videos. Each time, I play a video, using any player such as VLC or Realplayer or even on Youtube, suddenly the video freezes, turns into small boxes and the sound stops and then starts buzzing and whizzing! This continues for like half a minute or so, before I am able to resume viewing. As you can probably tell, I have no technical background. I am a translator, so, please use plain English if you wish to comment, heehehe... Your help on this is really much appreciated as I am quite frustrated by this problem.

    TIA,
    Noha

My brother had the same problem. You have a program pre installed on your computer called HP Coolsense. Turn it off... Problem fixed

If you can't find it just press the windows button on the keyboard and start typing the name of it. It will pop up. Click on it and turn it off.

There is also a firmware upgrade that supposedly fixes the CoolSense issue (I never had the issue so I can't make that claim personally).
