Not sure what happened. I have a HP Pavilion ze4300 and was working fine until it started freezing, problems booting/shutting down, hd making a lot of noise.

I tried reinstalling xp and when I boot, it keeps saying 'operating system not found'. I messed around with the bios and now, it just stays on the hp splash screen when I try to boot it up.

Will replacing the hard drive and ram fix this?
