I bought a new Dv7 Pavilion with 6770M. I'm trying to update the GPU but when I install the Catalyst 12.1 it says that can't update the actual display driver.
I can't update the GPU with AMD drivers, only with HP... My fps are low in lot of games (SWTOR for example).
Can you help me?
Cheers.

First thing to do is enter BIOS and change switchable to Fixed.
Now you can manually switch between GPUs through CCC.
Switch to AMD GPU/High-Performance GPU. After that download http://www2.ati.com/DriVeRs/mobile/12-1_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe and install it on top of HP driver. -
Thank you. -
You can always try the DNA drivers at DoNotArgue.com - no arguments needed or try the WHQL 12.1 Drivers at AMD Catalyst 12.1 (8.930.0 December 5) AMD Official WHQL - Guru3D.com Forums
Install this on top of the HP Drivers.
The way I install this is, if you already have hp drivers with ccc then download one of the above and just install the AMD Driver and nothing else.
If you want to know, right now I'm using the WHQL 12.1 driver. -
The link i posted above is Mobility 12.1 WHQL and i'm currently testing DNA 12.2.1 preview.
This is the 3rd alternative driver for DV6. leshcat blog IT Tips & Tricks
You can install this driver without the driver from HP.
Do read the FAQs if u want to install Leshcat's driver.
