Hi,
I have a Xp/Vista dualboot HP dv2610us notebook. I use the XP partition mainly, and everything seems fine. However, when I'm using wireless internet at my cousin's house, its extremely slow. Could it be the broadcom net card? Any site that's not google.com works slowly and times out eventually.
Does anyone know which Broadcom card I have, and what drivers I could download to possibly update it? Or can anyone identify the problem?
Thanks!

The Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver sp36684.exe is the same driver that I used on my dv2610us (from the dv2610us site), when I installed XP. My nic settings, how can I find that?
Usually, the wireless works fine and fast at school and at my apartment. But when I'm here at my cousin's house, its slow as hell. They also use wireless on their laptops and desktops, with default settings I assume, and have no problems.
So what should I do to increase my wireless connection speed? Also, can you identify which broadcom wlan card/chip I have in this dv2610us? System info and device manager says nothing except the brand of adapter.
Thanks again! -

See if there's a firmware update for your cousin's wireless router. Also, if there are any 2.4GHz cordless phones in the vicinity turn them off (unplug, remove battery, salt and burn the bones, etc).
