    Hi there!

I am having some problems with my computer. I have been running a couple of games (Just Cause 2/The Saboteur etc.) and I've been running in to a lot of lag even though I've turned down the settings to low. Even so my computer is still lagging. I reckon my computer should be good enough to run those games at least with low settings.
I ran DPC Latency Check and got a lot of red spikes. I turned of the WI-fi and then the spikes went down. Updated the drivers for the wi-fi card (Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN) to version 13.1.1.1. When I ran DPC again the red spikes where still there. Any clue how to solve this problem?

    My specs are:
    Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.40 GHz
    Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT
    4gb RAM
    Windows 7 Ultimate

How hot is the computer running? CPU could be throttling to lower temp. If it's hot and hasn't been before, clean the heatsink from dust :)

The temp is 40C on each core, so I don't think that's the problem. I noting your advice in my "advice-book" though.

I reckon it should be a Wi-Fi problem since the DPC test gave me green spikes when I inactivated the wi-fi card. My network is encrypted and it's only my computer that shows up on the DHCP list. Haven't tried to run the game when connected to a different network.

1 - check task manager while wifi is enabled and game minimized and check processes taking high amount of memory , maybe u have a program that only works in background while wifi is enable ( updating maybe or scanning )
    2 - system restore
    3 - fresh windows install
4 - return to HP if it's still in warranty
