Has anyone else had problems getting a new HP to work with a network access software (such as Clean Access Agent)? I can't get mine onto the college network here, but when I tried to connect through a port that doesn't require the access software, it worked fine. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

UPDATE: If it makes any difference, the card in my nc8430 is a Broadcom NetXtreme. The problem seems to be with how it's interfacing with the Clean Access Agent software.

Exactly what happens when you attempt to connect?

Well when you go to a website without the software through a port that requires it, it's supposed to redirect you to a site where you log onto the network and go download the Clean Access Agent. This doesn't happen for me - the site I put in (Google) tries to load up for a while then times out without ever redirecting to the log-in site.

I went to the ResNet department and they loaded up a slightly outdated version of the CCA onto the computer and installed it. Even then it won't let me log onto the service or redirect me with the internet to update the service. I'll go try to get a fully updated version tomorrow but besides that I can't think of any reasons why this problem is occurring. Again, when I try to access the web through a non-access-restricted port, it works just fine.

    Thanks again for your help
