What is a normal temp for the both of those, and at what temp does it start having adverse effects? I have a presario V2414.
    I have a Turion 64 ML-28

I have a ml28 and 40 gb 5400rpm hitachi hdd. Undervolted temp max at around 58C (thats when the fans kicks in) hdd around 32C to 35C. Before undervolting cpu temp goes over 60C all the time.
I read somewhere that cpu can reach over 100C before being damaged.

My current drive is toshiba which runs around 45-50, and previous Fujitsu also very similar , may be lower by couple of degrees. But day time at office I run it on Antec Cooler, so temps stay around 37-40C.

As per CPU, after undervolting never exceeded 58C( that is when fan kicks in), normal browing only 55C. Even before undervolt never exceeded 60C. Thermal limit for Turion is approx 95C. So, we need not worry about it much.

I am more concerned about HDD cooling in this laptop than any other issue. Probably Seagates are cooler.

I get pretty much the same temps reading like Chinna's.
However, the Seagates are not any better. Mine came with a Seagate 60GB 5400. It runs around 47C-48C. Still the HDD area is still not hot, just warm.

CPU runs 53C-54C. Occasionally CPU temp will jump to 57-58C.

I have the Targus Chill Mat, and it really bring down the temps... HDD = 33C-34C, CPU = 41C-43C.
