OK. I'm asking this yet again.

The product number on the sticker on my laptop is different from the product number reported by the program HP System Information.

I found this out through using the online help at HP. They gave me a list of downloads. I downloaded them and the problem still exists, as well as the original problem of quickplay hanging every time that I boot.

The quickplay problem is shown in the error reports.

If anyone can help, Please Please Please do!!!!

Does everyone that reads this look into their machines and compare the product numbers?

Any kind of response - PLEASE. Yes - No - Maybe. Something!

Thank you for your reply, homiss!

The product number on the sticker is: GT813AV
The product number reported in HP System Information is: GP238AV

From a quick Google search, the sticker-number just gives a more specific product [the dv6700t Special Edition CTO] than the more generic System Information-number [an "average" dv6700t CTO]. I'm betting that the System Information number is mainly more used to get the specific drivers for the dv6700t series, while the sticker number is more for the chassis design [that differs from the normal dv6700t number] to declare it a Special Edition.

I wish I could help with your problem, though...

A certain model can have multiple product numbers.
